RPL Charity Fundraising Day
On Sunday, 25th November the club held the second edition of the Riverton Premier League, which also doubles as a fundraising day for charity. This year, two teams played out a thrilling 20/20 cricket game which was decided with the second last ball of the day.
The Collapso Kings, owned by Mr Derek Mott (aka – the barefoot investor) were victorious over Goods Inc. who were jointly owned by Mr Matthew Koenig and Mr Andrew Taya. The two charities selected this year were Beyond Blue and the Cancer Council of W.A.
Despite early rain impacting on numbers we were still able to raise $1,100 for our charities which is to be shared equally.
The club would like to thank the many volunteers, players and supporters who made it a great day. In addition, the club would like to acknowledge the City of Canning who provided the club with a Small Community Grant to help offset the costs of the day. This is the second year that the council has supported us in this endeavour and we cannot thank them enough for their ongoing support of community groups within the City of Canning.
